Description
How to Deal with My Little Brat (English edition of “Ik moet toch ook mijn klootzakje kwijt”) For therapist and author Meta Herman de Groot, I developed the full cover and interior layout for the English edition of her book on navigating conflict with adolescents. The design needed to communicate the emotional tension between guidance, frustration and growth — without losing accessibility or warmth.

Concept
The cover uses a bold yellow and black palette inspired by caution signs.
Not to sensationalize the theme, but to reflect the urgency and emotional intensity many parents experience during this phase.
Inside the word BRAT, the negative space of the letter A reveals the silhouette of an adolescent.
A subtle, human element that frames the real subject of the book: a young person caught between rebellion and vulnerability.
